Side Hinged Garage Doors

Side Hinged Garage Doors, Made to Measure and Professionally Fitted

Side hinged garage doors, also called side hung garage doors, open outwards on two leaves, just like a pair of French doors. There’s no overhead track or mechanism, so you keep the full height and width of your garage for parking, storage or a workshop.

E.A Garage Doors supplies and fits side hinged garage doors across Essex and East Anglia, including Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, Witham, Maldon, Sudbury, Saffron Walden and Haverhill. Every door is made to measure for your opening, in steel, insulated or GRP, with a choice of styles, splits, colours and windows.

Insulated Side Hinged Garage Doors

Need a warmer garage? Our insulated side hinged garage doors use dual steel skins bonded to a thermal core, creating 20mm insulated panels. These are set in extruded aluminium surrounds with an aluminium frame.

Complete door panels give clean proportions inside and out, and every component is precision machined for a long, reliable service life. The doors are UKCA marked and manufactured under ISO 9001 quality systems.

70/30 Split Side Hinged Garage Doors

A 70/30 split gives you one wide leaf for everyday access, plus a narrower leaf you open only when you need the full width. This example has steel panels, a steel frame, secure locking and windows to let natural light into the garage, all with very little maintenance.

50/50 Split Side Hinged Garage Doors

Two equal leaves give a balanced, symmetrical look. This anthracite grey installation has long bar handles, with door stays to hold each leaf open and a floor seal for better weather protection.

GRP Side Hung Garage Doors: Wessex Frensham

This Wessex Frensham side hung garage door is made from GRP (glass reinforced polyester) in a wide grain woodgrain finish, with a 50/50 split. GRP won’t rust, rot or corrode, it’s stronger for its weight than steel or timber, and it needs very little maintenance.

As standard, every door has a robust handle, latch and deadlock with an adjustable keep for precise latching and an internal thumb turn for effortless operation.

Double seals to the door leaf and frame help protect against the weather and limit dust and debris entering your garage.

A gasket between the door leaf frame and insulated panel further helps seal the door against the elements.

Concealed shoot bolts at the top and bottom of the inactive leaf hold the door securely in place.

The adjustable keeps allow for easy alignment of the leaf position for a precise fit.

For an added level of security, 3-point locking with twin hook locks, is available as an option.
